This is a wavy walnut platter. The grain of the wood runs in many directions causing the appearance of waves.

I left just a smidgen of sapwood on the outer rim of the platter to give the beholder an appreciation for the contrasting color of the walnut tree.

The platter measures 12 1/8 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches tall.
